Behavior Analysis is the scientific study of behavior. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the application of the principles of learning and motivation from Behavior Analysis, and the procedures and techniques derived from those principles, to change behaviors. Many decades of research have validated treatments based on ABA, and it is one of the only scientifically valid therapies available for the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
More simply, ABA therapy is used with individuals to improve specific behaviors including social skills, communication, adaptive learning or daily living skills, and many others. We like to say that if we can see it, we can treat it.
